Umpire Course 2024

We are pleased to be running our umpire course again to help improve the levels of our existing umpires and to teach our new umpires of the future how to make those all important decisions when umpiring at our events.
Date: Saturday 24th February
Venue: Ash Centre, Ash Hill Road, Ash, Aldershot, GU12 5DP
Time: 10am-5pm (one hour lunch break)
Dress Code: Track suit/Dobok and sparring gear
Open to: Red belts/Black tags and all Black Belts
Cost: Free to AETA members
In our umpire course you will learn
  • Competition rules
  • Our exclusive electronic system
  • Our draw system
  • How to judge Pattern, Sparring, Spec Tech and Power Test
You will have hands on practice in how to be a corner referee and centre referee. This will give you the opportunity to get an insight into how an umpire thinks when decision making. Everyone will receive the PDF version of the umpire rules to practice in their own time or in class.
As well as additional and ongoing education, this course is a requirement for taking the black belt exam due to the knowledge gained as there are questions relating to umpiring in the theory exam. On completion you will receive a certificate of participation.
