UMPIRE COURSE 2026<\/b><\/div>\n
We are pleased to be running our umpire course again to help improve the levels of our existing umpires and to teach our new umpires of the future how to make those all-important decisions when umpiring at our events.<\/div>\n

Date:<\/strong> Saturday 21st February 2026<\/div>\n
Venue:<\/strong> Ash Centre, Ash Hill Road, Ash, Aldershot, GU12 5DP<\/div>\n
Time:<\/strong> 10am-4:30pm (one hour lunch break)<\/div>\n
Dress Code<\/strong>: Track suit, Dobok,\u00a0sparring kit<\/strong><\/div>\n
Open to:<\/strong> AETA Red belts\/Black tags and all Black Belts<\/div>\n
Cost:<\/strong> Free to licensed AETA members<\/div>\n

Please bring water, a packed lunch, pen and paper<\/div>\n
In our umpire course you will learn<\/div>\n

  • Competition rules<\/li>\n
  • Our draw system<\/li>\n
  • How to judge Pattern, Sparring, Spec Tech and Power Test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
    You will have hands on practice in how to be a corner referee and centre referee. This will give you the opportunity to get an insight into how an umpire thinks when decision making. Everyone will receive the PDF version of the umpire rules to practice in their own time or in class.<\/div>\n

    As well as additional and ongoing education, this course is a requirement for taking the black belt exam due to the knowledge gained as there are questions relating to umpiring in the theory
