Spectator fees are a single price which covers each individual for the two days. You can purchase them online in advance to save time queuing and paying on the day. These fees go towards covering the costs for the umpires. Spectators cannot enter the competition area.

5-15yrs: £3
16yrs+: £5
Coaches Fees
This year there will be no Coach fees, however, Coaches will still be required to pay the spectator entry and also have pre-registered for a Coaches’ Pass. As Coaches are not a requirement for this event, in the case a competitor does not have a coach, the other competitor will also not have a coach present so as to make it fair for both competitors.
Coaches Attire: Club T-shirt, track suit, trousers, socks, training shoes and a towel. No coaching in dobok is permitted.
Coaches passes are non-transferable and are valid only for the original applicant.
Those only attending to coach should acquire their pass via their Instructor’s access to the Competition Manager site.
Referees
Saturday 5th October
We would like to encourage all black belts to umpire on the Saturday so only colour belts will be coaching. We would suggest the club allocates just one Black Belt (it can be the instructor to coach, however we ask you to supply at least one umpire). We would like to encourage black belts from other groups to register to umpire to ensure fairness and a smooth running of the event.
Sunday 6th October
With the Black Belts competing on the Sunday we want to encourage the best referees & those willing to gain valuable experience umpiring at a high level, this is an ideal opportunity for umpires to showcase their skills and experience to give them the opportunity to umpire at international events in the future. We will pay the referees compensation to attend this event on this day as only 42 umpires will be accepted through the online application process for the Sunday event. To be a Jury President you will need to be a minimum class A or B, to be a Centre referee you will need to be a minimum class A or B and to be a referee you can be at least a class C. Class D (trained 1st/2nd Kups) can also referee and be jury members for experience.
Class A/B Jury President £75 for the day
Class A/B Centre Referee or Referee £50 for the day
Class C Referee £30 for the day
On registration your ITF umpire number will be required and your bank details to be able to receive payment. You may still referee without your umpire number without receiving compensation if you wish and some lower certified umpires may be given the opportunity to be a Centre Referee or Jury President.
We all appreciate our competitors having the best umpires, so the money raised from spectator and coaches fees will go towards paying the compensation for our umpires who work throughout the day.
Applications will open on 1st June 2024 and close on the 29th September, you will be notified immediately once accepted.
Dress Code – Navy blue suit, white shirt, navy blue tie, white socks, white trainers, pen. For Class D (1st/2nd Kup) Dark trousers, white shirt (no tie), white socks, trainers.

Draws
We are using a re-qualification system that means if a competitor loses a round then they will compete again in the Bronze medal draw where up to two bronze medals will be up for grabs on the Saturday. On the Sunday there will only be one bronze medal available. In the case of 3 competitors in a draw it will be a round robin, with four competitors it means after losing the first round they will still compete for Bronze, once a competitor loses two bouts then they are out of the draw. 15-17yrs & 18-35yrs Black Belts will compete in leagues.
There will be up to 1 gold, 1 silver and up to 2 bronze medals available for each division on Saturday and 1 bronze medal on Sunday unless in special technique or power test where less than 3 competitors are successful in passing the first round. These special medals are custom made, exclusive AETA medals with OPEN ENGLISH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024 written on the ribbon.
Only medals that are won can go towards points for overall competitors and Club awards. Medals will still be handed out though in categories of 4 or less on the Saturday, that will not count towards overall points. Overall champions from each age range and from all three events will receive a special overall trophy.
There will be 3 overall club trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. This is only available for clubs and not for associations who amalgamate students under one name.
